Ready to make an impact?
Registered Mental Health Nurse?
Know how to support residents and their families?
Caring and enthusiastic about providing specialist nursing care?
Kernow House Care Home could be just what you're looking for.
Barchester's Kernow House Care Centre exudes a calm and welcoming atmosphere. We're proud of our facilities, and rightly so; our well-equipped, well-maintained modern facilities complement the fine surroundings.
We specialise in caring for working age adults and the elderly living with Huntington's or advanced dementia. We also care for younger people with physical disabilities in our purpose-built dedicated units.
We understand that every individual we care for is on a journey - one that isn't always easy and which will inevitably lead to change. That's why our environment and staff teams have been tailored to meet those evolving needs.
Our Millaton service for people with Huntington's disease has an enviable reputation as a centre of specialism. We work closely with the Huntington's Disease Association (HDA) and local support groups to ensure that we offer the latest evidence-based care.
Our dedicated Memory Lane Community is a specialist unit that provides care for people living with dementia. Our focus is very much on delivering person-centred care, to enable residents to keep their normal daily routines as much as possible while maintaining their independence.
We are now looking for an outstanding Registered Nurse (Mental Health) to provide and supervise the delivery of high-quality mental health and dementia nursing care to our residents.
You will be expected to provide an environment that is conducive to the mental health needs of our residents and ensure they are treated with dignity.
You must hold a current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) and provide evidence of continuing professional development. A teaching or mentor/ supervision qualification would be an advantage. Ideally, you will have a nursing degree, or be willing to undertake education to degree level. Our Deputy Manager and Home Trainer will also fully support you to undertake an individually designed training programme to include care of adults of any age with diverse and complex needs due to dementia.
You must have up to date knowledge of clinical practices and a strong understanding of the CQC and regulatory requirements and framework. You must also have an awareness of the clinical policy framework, DoLS/ MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
You must have experience of producing well developed care plans, undertaking risk assessments and clinical team working. Experience within an older person setting and supporting newly qualified nurses would be beneficial.
You'll be ready to join us on our journey and bring your talents to a role where you can have real impact and gain valuable experience to develop your career.
If this is a challenge that excites you, we can offer you plenty in return - from career prospects to great rewards.
As well as a competitive salary, Barchester provides one of the best rewards packages in the care sector. Your generous package will include:
* Free learning and development
* Profit share scheme
* Childcare vouchers
* Retail discounts
* Leisure savings
* Holiday and travel discounts
* Mentor bonus scheme
If you have the unique qualities required for this exciting role and want to work with an organisation that provides the type of care you'd expect for your loved ones, we would welcome your application.
This role is eligible for a £1000 Golden Hello relocation payment. This means you would receive an additional £1000 payment in your first month's salary. Please note that this must be fully re-paid if you leave Barchester within your first 12 months of employment.
