Mental Health Practitioner

Band 5

Fixed term 12 months

Trust HQ, Exeter

We are committed to supporting the Health and Wellbeing of our employees and we’re proud to launch our dedicated Staying Well Service in the Winter of 2015. Since its launch the service has provided support to the 1900 of our colleagues in addition to delivering a huge program of health promotion and mental health awareness training. This service is well respected and valued by staff and featured on BBC’s One Show as a best-practice example of staff wellbeing.

The success of the service means we are now looking to enhance our team with the addition of an additional Mental Health Practitioner to support the excellent work of this team. This opportunity presents the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to engage in this positive, rewarding and varied role which will see them work both on a 1:1 basis with staff facing difficulties as well as engaging with health promotion and engagement and training opportunities. We are eager to continue to develop our service offering and so this role will feature an element of being able to contribute to service development and new initiatives which further support the wellbeing of our teams.

The service is managed by the Lead Mental Health Practitioner with the administrative support of the SWS Office Manager and is operational Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

This innovative service also maintains a professional link to the Nursing Directorate through which support is provided and supervision is delivered.

The base location for the role is flexible and can be discussed at interview. The successful candidate will be expected to travel as part of the role to further embed the Staying Well Service in all areas of the Trust.

Please note the interview date is subject to change.
