Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities.  We recently marked the 125th anniversary of our foundation as an institution dedicated to supporting science, industry and the professions with a distinctive interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach to teaching, research and knowledge exchange.  Dundee, Scotland’s sunniest city, is conveniently located with easy access to beautiful coastlines, spectacular lochs, glens and forest yet within an hour’s reach of Scotland’s larger commercial centres. The city and the university have undergone significant transformation in the last decade reflected in the city achieving the UK’s first UNESCO City of Design status and the university being short-listed for the Times Higher Education University of the Year award in 2016. The University now seeks to appoint a Lecturer and a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing/Nursing within the School of Social and Health Sciences.

The School of Social and Health Sciences delivers programmes and applied research in the areas of mental health nursing and counselling, psychology, sociology, and sport and exercise. There has been significant growth in the School’s research output in recent years.  The School is now further developing its provision and seeks to make new appointments as it progresses its ambitions to establish a centre of excellence in mental health.
