Deputy Ward Manager - PD Unit
Knowing that you’re making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. But our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.
Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for patients with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.
As part of its continual service development Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is opening an exciting new specialist service in 2018, providing care for female patients aged 18 years and over, with a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder. The 10-bedded unit is currently under construction and will offer a bespoke, modern environment in which to provide a full Dialectical Behavioural Therapy model of care to our patients.
Would you like to work in a dynamic, psychologically-minded team, responsible for opening a new service at Cheadle Royal? How about gaining therapeutic training, experience and expertise in working with women with complex mental health challenges?
We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic Deputy Ward Manager to support the unit in delivering therapeutic care to the women on our programme. Our patients will present challenging and complex needs, and our aim will be to promote a life worth living, with a supported return through their care pathway back into the community.
Reporting to the Ward Manager you will be responsible for the clinical direction of the service, providing clinical supervision for the ward team and implementing best practice to ensure quality standards are met. The successful applicant will participate fully with the clinical team and support changes within the service.
The post holder must be experienced in delivering and receiving supervision. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to be able to assess and prioritise clinical situations. The management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role.
Experience in working within a DBT model of care would be welcomed, although British Isles DBT training will also be available to the successful candidate.
