Ty Cwm Rhondda is a 20-bed low secure mental health facility offering high-quality assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for men with complex mental health needs, serious mental illness including treatment-resistant presentations and challenging behaviour.Role and Context Purpose
- To support and assist registered nurses in the delivery of quality care.
- To promote independence and encourage patient involvement in their care through effective communication and engagement.

The business has four types of customer; patients, staff, purchasers and external agencies.
Patients may suffer from mental illness, personality disorder and/or learning disabilities. Patients at the Unit are detained under the Mental Health Act. Referrals are taken from many sources including psychiatric hospitals, prisons and the courts.
The workforce of the organisation is multidisciplinary; a significant proportion of those are employed within the clinical disciplines, in addition other departments provide support services.
As a Health Care Worker you will be working within a team, which includes a range of professionals. You will make an effective contribution to providing high quality care within a medium secure / low secure and locked, specialised mental health rehabilitation and recovery setting.
The patient group consists of personality disordered learning disability individuals and those experiencing enduring mental illness.
You will work within an identified career development pathway and be expected to complete appropriate competency development portfolios.About us
