Physical Healthcare Team, Quality and Governance Directorate, Northampton

Salary: £25,680.00 - £31,469.00 per annum, inclusive of registered clinical allowance

Hours: Full-time, 37.50 hours per week, 7:50 hours per shift x5 shifts per week (Early: 08:00 - 16:00, Late: 12:00 - 20:00) Monday - Friday as per rota requirement

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Practice Nurse to support Nurse Practitioners in the delivery of physical healthcare.

As part of our commitment to excellent physical healthcare for our patients, we are looking to recruit a full-time Practice Nurse, specialising in primary and physical healthcare.

As a Registered Nurse, you will act within your professional standards and boundaries to provide excellent physical healthcare for our patients as well as being an advocate for their physical healthcare needs.

You will be able to demonstrate skills in some, or all of the following: clinical decision making, attendance of medical emergencies and appropriate response. Experience and skills to assess and manage patients to include long term conditions (diabetes, respiratory and hypertension etc.), smoking cessation, minor illness, minor injury and wound management, ECG and venepuncture. There will be requirement to provide advice on promotion of good health and wellbeing.

The post holder will be expected to lead and coordinate shifts on a rotational basis and be involved in regular supervision and staff meetings. You will embrace the need to work collaboratively with colleagues within your department and MDT across the Charity. This is a very wide and varied role, which will provide fresh challenges to the right candidate.

Knowledge and experience of working with challenging patient groups would be an advantage as you will be a role model to your team, demonstrating a flexible, individual and person centred approach. Safety and therapeutic engagement are key components of our care delivery focus and should be a key demonstrable interest and ability required for this role.
