Are you a registered Nurse, Health Visitor or Midwife looking to take a lead in raising awareness of safeguarding roles and responsibilities? Do you want to be the Health and Social Care Nursing/Midwifery strategic lead, ensuring obligations under relevant legislation and guidance are met and where you can identify new opportunities for the continued safeguarding of our community?

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Nurse, this exciting new opportunity will include Acute in-patient areas, Paediatric, Maternity, Mental Health and Learning Disability Services and Community Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the nursing and midwifery safeguarding agenda and requires true, innovative leadership and vision ensuring there are robust processes in place to enable HSC to participate in case reviews. You will need to demonstrate expert knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance in relation to safeguarding children and adults as well as the proven skills to deliver and co-ordinate safeguarding children and adult training, in line with the Intercollegiate documents for safeguarding children and adults.

With this in mind, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is passionate about adult and children safeguarding and who leads from the front, motivating and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be key as will your experience in managing teams.

You will need to have a commitment to supervision, training and development within the role. In return you will receive excellent support, regular good quality supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development.

This role is based in Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, a small group of picturesque Islands situated in the English Channel.
