Deputy Ward Manager - Alder
Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within either a secure setting or a PICU setting. Reporting to the Ward Manager you will be responsible for the clinical direction of the service, providing clinical supervision for the ward team and implementing best practice. The successful applicant will participate fully with the clinical team and support changes within the service.
The post holder must be experienced in delivering and receiving supervision. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to be able to assess and prioritise clinical situations. The management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role.

Alder Unit is acute mental health units for men and women. The unit have 10 beds, 5 male and 5 female, with a separate lounge area for females. The units will operate a 24 hour admission service supporting local NHS services, taking both informal and formal patients. The units team will consist of a consultant psychiatrist, staff grade doctor, clinical psychologist, occupational therapist, registered mental health nurses and experienced health care assistants. The ethos of the units will be to provide support in a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement during the in-patient stay. Alder will also work closely with the psychiatric intensive care units allowing patients a pathway of care appropriate to their needs.About us
