Suttons Manor is a specialist low secure forensic service for men who are over the age of 50.
Care is provided over two wards, both of which are 13 bedded male units and offer an age appropriate environment for those who also have a mental health/personality disorder and/or dementia, in need of physical health care needs.
The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over 9 acres near the town of Romford in Essex. Convenient access is provided by the M25, and the nearby underground station at Theydon Bois, which is on the Central Line, or rail station at Romford.The role:
We are looking to recruit personable, flexible and motivated patient escorts who when not performing escort duties will fulfil the role of a healthcare assistant. The role will support patients on their recovery pathway, to include shopping ADLs, encouragement of all group and individual activities, for home leave escorts and local area trips and activities. It is essential you have a manual driving license.
You will support our qualified staff with the delivery of care to our patients. You will be involved in the personal care and meeting the psychological needs of a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of mental and physical issues. You will be caring and attentive with the skills to build strong and trusting relationships with people. It is also important that you work well in a team as you will work alongside qualified nurses and staff from other professions.
As a Health Care Worker you must be willing to provide:
• An excellent caring service in conjunction with the qualified nursing team
• Be actively involved in patient care
• Maintain and develop high standards of care for our patients while being aware of their individual needs and care programmes
• Contribute towards effective communication, by reporting to the nurse in charge any information given by patient/relative, incident or observation which may affect patients' physical/mental well-being
• Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and comfortable ward environment in accordance with health and safety standards
